In the late sixties, founder Bob Dunnet gained extensive experience in the creation of office buildings in Sydney CBD’s whilst working for major development company, Hooker Projects Pty Ltd. In the early seventies Bob spent time in London working in retail property with one of the major West-End players, handling the creation, management and investment of retail properties in the ‘High Streets’ of Britain.
Upon returning to Australia, Bob continued working with a major British property group, project managing the development and construction of major office buildings in Sydney and Melbourne.
It was in the late seventies that Bob established his own property business, Dunnet Properties (then called Robert Dunnet Pty Ltd), providing property advisory services to major Australian developers. Bob worked closely with a West Australian based developer in the late seventies and early eighties, creating many new Coles and K-Mart Shopping Centres throughout the greater Sydney area. Following this, in the late eighties Bob’s business provided extensive property advice to Woolworths Group, enabling the expansion of their BIG W operation from 46 to 100 stores Australia-wide.
